We’re proud to partner with several local universities to offer student placements that support degree learning with practical experience. Our placements typically last 10–12 months and give students the chance to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. Many who take part go on to start their careers with us after graduating, having built strong foundations during their time here. 

Placements are closely linked to your area of study and offer the chance to work in departments such as IT, HR, Finance, and more. You’ll gain essential skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, while also building professional networks and exploring different career paths within policing and public service.

We offer a wide range of graduate roles across the force, many of which don’t require prior work experience. That’s because we provide comprehensive training to help you build the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in policing or support services. Opportunities exist in areas like Forensics, HR, Cyber Crime, Business, Intelligence, and Fraud - though the roles may not always be labelled as "graduate" positions.
