If you’re looking to connect with staff, communities, or the public, our Communications and Engagement team is here to help. We manage the force’s public image, media relations, and social media accounts, ensuring accurate, timely info during major incidents or emergencies. Our goal is to build trust and transparency through effective communication strategies that highlight the force’s activities, initiatives, and events.
We're a talented, collaborative team of ex-journalists, TV producers, creatives, and designers, all dedicated to making an impact through powerful storytelling. Together, we support local policing, engage with communities, and create campaigns that help prevent crime. We're proud of the difference we make!
These are some of the key teams that you'll find within our Supporting The Force Communications and Engagement department.
This team handles how we deal with the media during big incidents, making sure the public gets the right info quickly. They also help promote court cases with digital content and press releases, share good news stories, and offer media training. They’re available 24/7 to support the force during major events.
This team looks after everything online – from social media to the website and intranet. They create content, run training on how to use social media properly, and produce videos, edit footage, and take official photos for the force.
This team runs marketing and awareness campaigns that support the work of the police and the Police and Crime Commissioner. They use research and data to create targeted messages, help raise awareness internally, and manage budgets. They also support local neighbourhood teams with engagement tools and help keep staff informed through internal communications.
