Freedom of Information

We handle Freedom of Information (FOI) requests from the media, organisations, and the public, ensuring accurate and timely responses. We also process Subject Access (SA) requests from individuals seeking personal information we may hold about them.

Data Protection

Nearly every interaction with the public involves personal data, so protecting that information is essential. In this team, you’ll advise, guide, and train colleagues across all departments to ensure they stay up to date with the latest data protection requirements.

Records Management Team

Everything we do is recorded, and as part of our records management team, you’ll help ensure those records - paper or digital - are handled in line with strict retention and disposal guidelines.

Information Security

We handle highly sensitive information, so ensuring its safety and security is crucial. In this team, you’ll work closely with Information Services to advise, guide, and monitor data compliance across our networks and systems, helping to protect all the information we hold.

Disclosure and Barring Service

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) processes criminal record checks and manages the Adults’ and Children’s Barred Lists, helping employers across England, Wales, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man make safer recruitment decisions.

Central Disclosure Unit

We support a range of external organisations by processing daily information requests, from court orders and child protection enquiries to those from various regulatory bodies.

Investing in your development

We know that to protect and support our community effectively we need to keep up-to-date with new approaches, processes and technologies. This means that there will always be opportunities for training and professional development. We’ll continuously review your training needs and help succeed in your role. We’ll challenge you to work outside your comfort zone. And we’ll encourage you to grow.

As well as professional training and a range of in-house training opportunities, you can also look forward to plenty of personal support. This might be from your colleagues in the team, new opportunities that become available or through membership of one of our many staff associations.
