Introduction

At Leicestershire Police, we oversee important functions like vetting, complaints, counter corruption, and learning from misconduct or incidents. Our focus is on making sure frontline staff have the right learning and support, and we’re ahead of the game when it comes to how we deliver it. Using tech, we offer "how-to" videos and a handy app that delivers key information straight to your phone. It's all about learning from peers in a collaborative environment.

Within our department, there's something for everyone. Whether it’s vetting, setting standards for new recruits, or working with the Counter Corruption team on sensitive investigations, there's always room for growth. Complaints are handled with care, ensuring we maintain public trust, even when it's challenging. Working with external partners like the Independent Office for Police Conduct is part of the job.

The Counter Corruption team, in particular, gets specialised training in investigations, ensuring you have the skills and qualifications to excel in a high stakes, fulfilling role.

Complaints

Our team handles public complaints, from minor issues to more serious concerns, ensuring we maintain the trust and confidence of the community.

Counter-corruption

Focused on tackling serious misconduct and preventing criminal activity within the organisation, our team works proactively to protect our systems from exploitation.

Hearings office

This team manages internal misconduct hearings and complaint appeals, making sure everything is processed fairly and efficiently.

Organisation learning

We ensure that lessons from misconduct, incidents, or inspections are shared with staff so they can learn from both mistakes and successes, improving our overall service.

Vetting

Our vetting team ensures that all staff meet the highest standards, providing guidance to ensure that those who’ve made minor mistakes can still be given a fair chance to join the force.
