As an investigator of serious and organised crime, you may work on cases such as drug and human trafficking, firearms offences, and organised burglaries, often in collaboration with national and international agencies. The role involves handling complex cases like fraud, cybercrime, assaults, and homicides through evidence collection and interviews. You may also work undercover, conduct surveillance, and use advanced technology to track suspects. Collaboration with units including Cyber Crime, Intelligence, and Forensics is key, along with using tools like digital forensics and financial analysis. Supporting victims, especially in sensitive cases, is also an important part of the work.
