Your role focuses on safeguarding children at risk of harm by protecting them from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and serious harm - through both proactive prevention and responsive action.

The Public Protection Unit (PPU) is responsible for investigating and managing cases involving vulnerable individuals, particularly where there’s a risk of serious harm. This includes addressing domestic abuse, child abuse and neglect, sexual offences, stalking and harassment, honour-based violence and forced marriage, managing registered sex offenders, and safeguarding adults at risk, such as those with mental health issues or disabilities.

The Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) is responsible for collecting and interpreting intelligence from a wide range of sources to help prevent and detect crime. It supports everything from local policing to major investigations and counter-terrorism efforts.
