Building the future police force – one adventure at a time!
What is the Mini Police?
Big ideas can start small - and that’s exactly what the Mini Police programme is all about. Aimed at enthusiastic Year 5 students (ages 9–10), this fun and interactive experience gives young minds a first glimpse into the world of policing while helping them build strong, positive connections within their community.
Through exciting activities, teamwork, and real engagement with local officers, the Mini Police programme sparks curiosity, encourages responsibility, and shows children how they can make a difference. It’s not just about uniforms and badges - it’s about building trust, promoting safety, and giving young people the confidence to be positive role models from the very start.
Some of our Success Stories
One of our pilot Mini Police schemes recently concluded, with local Year Five pupils completing a 20-week curriculum as part of their PSHE lessons. Throughout the programme, the children gained a valuable insight into policing, got involved in community initiatives, and received age-appropriate safety education.
To celebrate the end of the scheme, they visited police headquarters, where they watched a live demonstration by Reggie, a police search dog, and saw the force drone in action. All participants received certificates, and a few standout pupils were recognised with the Mini Police Officer of the Year award for their outstanding engagement throughout the programme.
